Ever fancied having your own Paul McCartney to display on your desk? Well, good news is, if you've got a 3D printer you can now print your own little, plastic Paul.
As it turns out, McCartney had himself scanned in 3D for his super sci-fi "Hope for the Future" music video that was released last December. The file was then transferred over to the people who run his website PaulMcCartney.com.
"We spend as much time as possible in our lab coats, stroking our chins and pacing the office thinking up new and fun things to do with Paul," explained a blog post on the site.
"One of the technologies we've been excited by in recent years is 3D printing, named by some as the 'Third Industrial Revolution'," they explained.
"The thinking here is that in the coming years we will all begin to see 3D printed objects appearing in our daily lives creating items such as machine parts, bone and limb replacements, clothing and even food."
McCartney showed off his 3D-printable mini-me during the promotional campaign for the 'Hope For The Future' single in November. But the 50MB file is now made available to fans who wishes to print their own lifesize 3D Paul McCartney for free.
