3D Systems has unveiled today their new generation of 3DMe Photobooth with enhanced user experience, aiming to bring the full 3DMe experience to retail spaces and events. The new photobooths includes an attractive user interface and is fine-tuned for easier point-of-sale, revenue reporting, and user experience.

How does it work? 3DMe Photobooth uses 3D imaging technology to capture an instant facial image. Users can put their face on seasonal and branded collections of customizable 3DMe figurines, including characters from "Ghostbusters" and "Walking Dead." Once the character model is created, users can play animations of their personalized character, social share and order 3D-printed full color figurines—all within minutes from the Photobooth kiosk.

"We're excited for the new opportunities that 3DMe Photobooth brings to retail and event spaces for increased foot traffic, recurring revenue, and for the joy it brings users," said Peter Theran, Vice President of Global Consumer Products, 3DS. "3DMe Photobooth is always hugely popular with consumers, and now it's easier for owners, too. It's a win for everyone."

The latest version of the 3DMe Photobooth also seems to be good news for retailers. For according to the press release, the kiosk also has some interesting and enhanced operating features that will add to its popularity among consumers. The biggest eye catcher must be the POS, or the point-of-sale system, which will allow for on-site purchases being made with a credit card reader. This also includes revenue tracking systems that can be used by owners to pinpoint the latest trends. Essentially, the 3DMe Photobooth has been designed to be used within minutes of unpacking, enabling vendors to offer services to customers and begin generating revenue.

Furthermore, the 3DMe Photobooth’s skin also features interesting customization options, with an eye on visibility and product branding. The same customizable options have also been incorporated into 3DMe Photobooth’s content, which can be refreshed to match current brands and seasons. In short, enough to enable vendors to use content and styles that appeal to their customers.
