3D printing giant Stratasys has entered into a technical partnership with Team Penske, an American professional stock car and open-wheel racing team. The partnership, which comes in the form of a multi-year agreement, will see Stratasys support Team Penske by providing equipment and services for engineering and manufacturing across its NASCAR and IndyCar racing platforms.

More specifically, Stratasys will provide Team Penske with its top 3D printing solutions to aid in the manufacturing of tooling and car parts, as well as rapidly manufactured engineering prototypes. According to the company, it will also offer technical support to Team Penske for customized motorsports applications and materials engineering.

Founded in 1965, Team Penske (founded by Roger Penske) has become one of the most recognized teams in motorsports. We are eager to see how 3D printing is integrated into Team Penske’s racecar manufacturing and whether 3D printed parts and components will help lead them to more victories. For now though, we’ll be tuning into the 2017 Monstrer Energy NASCAR Cup Series, and the NASCAR XFINITY Series in Daytona this month to see how Team Penske fares.
