3D printing company Stratasys has unveiled its new J700 Dental 3D Printing solution at the International Dental Show in Cologne, Germany. The dental 3D printer is being marketed as the “fastest PolyJet-based 3D printer for production of clear aligner molds" and will be made available for purchase later this year.
For those in the dental industry, the International Dental Show (IDS) is an exciting event, where all the latest innovations in dental technologies are showcased. Over the last few years, IDS has also been especially fruitful for dental 3D printing breakthroughs, as dentistry is one of the fastest adopters of additive manufacturing. Stratasys’ J700 Dental 3D Printing solution is one of several 3D printing-related dental products to be unveiled at IDS 2017.
With the capacity to 3D print over 400 clear aligner molds per day, the Stratasys J700 Dental 3D printer is being heralded as the fastest PolyJet 3D printer designed specifically for clear aligner molds. Its rate of production can allow dental or orthodontic clinics to streamline production workflow for patient-specific aligners, which in turn allows for shorter production and delivery times, overall lower costs, and increased productivity.
“The Stratasys J700 Dental 3D Printer is especially designed for orthodontic labs to achieve high throughput in production of clear aligners,” commented R. Scott Rader, PhD, GM of Healthcare Solutions at Stratasys. “It is custom-built to address demand for large scale capacity, effectively keeping pace with growing segment requirements. With the highest levels of throughput, Stratasys is shaping digital dentistry—again.”
Stratasys suggests its J700 Dental 3D printer be used with its VeroDent material, a durable, highly detailed material developed for the dental industry. The material, which is designed for accelerated production, requires little to no post-processing, helping to speed up production times even more. The 3D printer is also suited for large-volume production, while removing the necessity for extensive post-curing or processing steps.
Notably, the new dental 3D printer is designed for use within dental offices, so it does not require design or technical expertise to operate. Paired with GrabCAD Print, the 3D printer offers its users smart default settings, as well as suggestions and notifications, which make the 3D printing process smooth and easy. Users also have the benefit of adjusting or editing detailed 3D models before the print.
As mentioned, Stratasys is debuting its new J700 Dental 3D printing solution at IDS in Cologne—visitors can see the machine for themselves in Hall 3.1 Stand (L048 M049) or Hall 10.2 Stand (P032).
