An interesting concept! This dude made a 3D printed record for their Fisher-Price music box record player. "Still Alive" from Portal performed by Jonathan Coulton is played on a 3D printed record and has taken the music copyright to the next more complicated level. Anyway, the tune and model were all generated in processing and the record was printed at Shapeways. This record can be purchased for $41.87.
Pittance sez, "This is my brand new 3D printed Fisher-Price record player record (for the old clockwork music box one, not the new electronic one) playing "Still Alive" from Portal. It's entirely made using Processing and printed at Shapeways and, now I know how to do it, I really hope I can make more with different tunes - suggestions?"
Check out the video below:
If you are not impressed by the quality of the sound, I hope the Jonathan Coulton Sings "Still Alive" videoclip could comfort your ears.

I volunteer some of my time to help nonprofits with their websites. I worked in IT for 23 years and was a professional webmaster too. I've helped eight organizations so far. Do you have any interest in getting a new website for free? I just helped an animal shelter and their site is really nice now. I helped a women's center before that. Sincerely, Jessica Graham Jessicagraham@nonprofitwsp.com

Very cool! I've been researching how to make music box movements and I've come to the conclusion that I'll have a 3D printed version of the song I want before I make it myself!
