Billy Zelsnack / Adjunct Engineering LLC just launched a $300 desktop 3D printer kit on Kickstarter.
Unlike Makibox's $350 3D printer, Printxel 3D Printer have not only a beta kit, but also made some impressive sample prints.
(Above: The prints shown range in height from 19mm to 100mm and have a layer thickness from 0.05mm to 0.4mm.)
Printxel 3D Printer is a complete kit including the mechanics, motors, extruder, electronics, power supply, but not include heated platform. It is recommended to use PLA as material for this printer and a sample supply of plastic filament around a pound will be provided.

- Maximum build volume: 140x140x140mm (5.5x5.5x5.5")
- Footprint: 250x200x300mm (10x8x12")
- Operating footprint: 250x315x300mm (10x12.5x12")
- Material: 3mm PLA (recommended) or 3mm ABS
- Print layer thickness: 0.2mm to 0.4mm (thinner is possible)
- Speed: 30mm/s perimeters and 50mm/s fill (faster is possible)
- Nozzle aperture: 0.5mm
- Input voltage: 100-240V 50-60Hz
- Weight: 8 pounds
At Kickstarter Billy Zelsnack set only 25 beta kits for the first production run. And up to now there are already 21 backers and just 4 kits available for backing. The earliest delivery for the first Printxel 3D Printer kit will be July 2012. So you'd better hurry up if you also want such one, but only skilled users are suggested to attempt to build or operate this kit.
