Check out this awesome shredder in the video below. It is developed by Marcus Thymark of Germany who won a crowd design challenge at GrabCAD for LifeTrac IV - Quick Connect Wheels early this year. The shredder can be used to recycle all your failed prints or any other plastic scrap.

This reminds me of the filabot project, a 3D plastic extrusion system which grinds and melts the old plastic items in an extrusion to make usable filament for 3D printing. Actually Marcus is currently working with the filabot team for making new shredder for their extruding system. The new shredder will make less noise and no vibrations. So be patient and stay tuned for more work in progress.

Marcus is also developing cnc milling machine with laser cutter, plasma cutter, 3D printer all in one. For more information check it out on Marcus' blog.

Thanks Rob Logue for the tip!
