Design and 3D print "Love and Hate" word blocks

Making a perfect 3D object takes quite a lot of skill and patience. But if you start something simple, such as the above "Love and hate" word blocks, you will find it is just a pleasant experience to be able to create a file in a 3D program and have it 3D printed.

If you look at this word block from one side, it's "love." And from another angle, it's "hate." You can choose any words and font you want to make a word block. Instructables user fungus amungus' has made a step-by-step instruction to help you play with the words and shapes.

Step 1: Create word outlines with Illustrator with your favorite words and font;
Step 2: Extrude Words in Rhino;
Step 3: Rotate one word 90 degree and move it over so it crosses over the other word;
Step 4: Apply a Boolean intersection and get the crossover volume.
Step 5: Resize and export an STL file ready for 3D printing.
Step 6: 3D Print!
