Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, in collaboration with architect Julia Koerner, unveiled her stunning 3D printed dress during haute couture week in Paris as part of her "Hybrid Holism" AW 2012/2013 collection.

Iris van Herpen's fashion is a form of self-expression that she combines creative inspirations in design with innovative constituents. This season her collection connects human creations to natural systems which is inspired by the "living" architectural work of Philip Beesly and his 'Holozolic Ground' project.

The materials Iris van Herpen applied to this collection include mirrored copper sheeting, metallic coated stripes, UV-curable Polymer,
silicone lace, Swarovski crystals, acrylic transparent sheets and Ecco leather. Once again she teamed up with Materialise and .MGX to create 3D printed dress using 3D printing, specifically the technique of stereolithography. With Stereolithography a part is built slice by slice from bottom to top in a vessel of liquid polymer that hardens when struck by a laser beam. This is one of Iris' applied techniques into the possibilities of fashions future.

Iris Van Herpen started her own label in 2007, and in 2011 she joined the exclusive French Trade Association of Haute Couture (Chambre Syndical de la Haute Couture), making her one of the youngest and most talented designers in the fashion industry.
