Aleph Objects, Inc., makers of the LulzBot desktop 3D printer, is giving away eight of their AO-100 printers to eight lucky hackerspaces around the world.

If you are from a hackspace that needs a 3D printer to build, hack, make, and create things, you can submit your application with your idea on what your hacker space would do with a 3D printer. The 8 hacker spaces with the most creative idea on how they will use their new LulzBot 3D printer will be winners.

Aleph Objects released the fully assembled AO-101 3D printer end of last year, which is the next generation printer from the AO-100. The new printer has the same design and frame as previous version AO-100, but offers stronger vitamins, updated RAMBo electronics, improved solid plate and pulley and spooling system.

Here are the details of "3D printers giving away":

WHO QUALIFIES: Any community-operated physical hacker space, where people meet and work on their projects. Your hacker space must meet these hacker basics to qualify: community operated physical space; website/wiki; a basic set of hacker tools; belief in sharing resources and knowledge to build and make things; use and contribute to free software and open hardware projects and communities.

GIVEAWAY DATES: March 20 - April 15, 2013, 11:59 PM MT. Winners will be notified by email and announced via our blog, on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.

CHOOSING THE WINNERS: LulzBot staff will review all entries, and choose the 8 hacker spaces with the most creative idea on how they will use their shiny new LulzBot 3D printer.
