At Anime Contents Expo 2013 (ACE 2013) on March 30th and 31st, visitors could order a 3D printed miniature figurines of themselves at Sony Music Communications booth. This is the first event Sony Music Communications participated after the launch of their 3D printing service to make miniature figurines.

First a visitor to the booth had to stand in a certain pose for 10 to 20 minutes and got 3D full body scanned. The image will then be uploaded to the computer for fine-tuning, for example changing color or texture of the 3D data. The 3D data is then ready for 3D printing.

Using ZPrinter650 & 850 3D printers from 3D Systems, the team will print out the figures and apply painting and wax as final finishing.

It will take about two months before you can finally receive your 3D printed miniature figurines. Prices are based on the figure's size:

S (15 cm/5.9 inch), 150g, JPY47,000 ($500)

M (20 cm/7.9 inch), 300g, JPY62,000 ($660)

L (30 cm/11.8 inch), 900g, JPY109,000 ($1,160)
