At Maker Faire Bay Area 2013, San Francisco based Type A Machines presented their latest "engineering concept": the Series 1 Pro.
The Series 1 Pro is a high strength all aluminum-framed 3D printer using a professional grade linear guide system. Maintaining the open core design of the Series 1, the Series 1 Pro will be fully wifi compatible.
Further improving the reliability and performance already available in the Series 1, the Series 1 Pro Engineering Concept has a larger build volume than before, approximately 18 liters.
The Series 1 Pro is expected to be available in Q3 of 2013.
Type A Machines was founded in 2012 by Andrew Rutter. Their first-generation 3D printer the Series 1 has a large print bed of 10" x 9" x 9" (254 x 229 x 229 mm). The company has now 18 people and have shipped almost 100 3D printers in the last five months alone.
