Idiots, 2D printers all look the same, Cars all look the same. Phones look the same, calculators look the same.. Stop Bagging something just for the sake of bagging it... It is subtle differences that count now, if the product does what I want it to do well, then I couldn't give a rats ass if it looks like an upside down sphere...

@yuri following your logic Makerbot has been copied by Ultimaker, because Ultimaker uses plywood, or am I wrong? regards, Pedro

It is indeed 2 steps back that anyone try to owe anything in 3D printers industry just by putting open source sticker on it and then to blame everyone that single screw mount was stolen from his design after all is missing only some open source slicer author which start to blame that they copied "idea" of slicing from him. Funny world of open scum it is indeed play in exactly same style as corporations doing with nonsense patents. Cars industry, phones industry, consumer electronics industry, they moved forward due of they reinnovate good ideas, but in 3D printing industry seems have to be a monopoly where only Replicator can use metal black design nobody else... call to BMW, Audi etc. and say that they moving this world back due of they just copy black color, silver and white color in every of they cars. same as they copy 4 wheels car design.. tell them to invent new colors and more wheels because black was used first by ford hundred years ago same as 4 wheels !!!

I laugh as I read the comments :) I bought once Ultifaker some time ago, I've quickly sold it. A lot of problems with extruder etc. the price is too high for a piece of plywood. If someone says that Zortrax it is a copy Ultimaker, I want to beat big five for creators of Zortrax because from what I see they done cheaper and better printer than Ultimaker which for the last two years made no progress. Ok, I just read a comment Bill Dempsey, and I did not have much luck when trying to get some support. BTW: Ultimaker copy X/Y from Multifab, Z was copy from Stratasys, the nozzle was copy from UP!. Even UP! was copy by Cubify ;) Generally, all printers are copies Stratasys printers :)

@Yuri - I know personally Gadgets, they many times helped me in the supply of various parts for my printers, and it's pathetic that you insult them without knowing any facts about it, your behavior is one word pathetic. About Bluebot printer you should contact with the real creator of the Chinese 3D Joy, here is the link: http://www.3ders.org/articles/20130218-ultimaker-has-a-3d-joy-version-in-china.html And yes, I agree with you that Gadgets was on offer for a few days bluebot printer but as a salesman and as far as I know they did not sell any printer from their store. Personally, I would ask you to stop insulting GADGETS3D because frankly this behavior the Ultimaker team loses confidence in the eyes of the people associated with the industry of 3D printers. It's my 5 cents

The only problem in this that company who stand back Zoltrax design was selling bluebot printers exacly clones of ultimaker. After big scream they stoped it and made zoltrax to became inventors. And the true is that zoktrax is copy of ulti stylised on replicator 2. This is not step forward in printing its 2 steps back

New printer old story, who copy who. I remember Replicator annoucement haters come and blame that Makerbot copied soliddodle design and ultimaker design etc. now is 2013 home printers scene have around 8 years it is hard now invent anything new wheels are invented now Makerbot and Zortrax start to build a good cars if Ultimaker or Solidoodle think that they invented something then patent offices are opened in every country - otherwise this free to use by any company.

maybe I'm not a expert in Ultimaker but as I see you guys know better, but you don't know history this solution was made by some ppl from MIT long time ago (before Ultimaker "saw the light of day"): http://mtm.cba.mit.edu/fabinabox/dev/multifab/overview.html So I as a customer is not interested in the who did what but how that works and how much :) BTW: A lot of printers working on similar solutions and for me have no sense quarrel. Take care guys and not stress :0
