Developer Alex Hodara (23) is offering a 3D printer in one of the three units at the under-redevelopment 191 Everett Street in East Boston, according to Tom Acitelli of curbed.com.

Since starting Hodara Real Estate Group in 2009, Alex Hodara has brokered millions in real estate sales, was named to Businessweek's Top 25 Entrepreneurs Under 25. The Boston-based company has also expanded into buying and developing modern buildings.

Hodara says the technology that comes standard in the apartments we rent and buy is so ancient that it is like "we are living in apartments that pretty much could have existed in 1880".

Therefore Hodara wants to develop apartments equipped with up-to-date technology, like built in HDTVs, wireless tablets or even 3D printers. The unit at the 191 Everett Street in East Boston has already rented for $3,100, and will be move-in ready by Sept. 1. "Soon I will reveal my latest development which I think will blow some of you away....." says Hodara. According to curbed.com, this unit will come with an iRobot Roomba, a shower with a built-in iPad; a projector for an iPad or iPhone; wireless speakers in the living room; and a tablet in the kitchen for looking up recipes etc.. And these gadgets cost even less than 1% of the cost of the redevelopment, says Hodara.

Watch the video below Hodara's prediction of four things that he think will come standard in futuristic apartments..... and some of these things he is already incorporating into his developments.
