eBay announced today a new iOS app called eBay Exact that lets users buy customizable 3D-printed merchandise (from $9 for a plastic iPhone case to $350 for a metal ring) from three 3D printing companies.

These companies are: Brooklyn-based MakerBot, France-based Sculpteo, and Toronto, Canada-based Hot Pop Factory. Currently customers can choose from roughly 20 items, ranging from technology accessories to jewelry.

eBay Exact allows users to order products directly from these partners, pay with PayPal. Items will be then shipped directly from each 3D printer's facilities within 7 to 14 business days.

Using the app is simple: you select a product, choose a design, pick color and materials, including plastics, wood and metals and then check out.

Be the first to use new technology to create as many one-of-a-kind iPhone cases, jewelry, and figurines, exactly as you like. The app can be downloaded here on the App Store.

"Shoppers today not only want to buy items anytime, anywhere through mobile devices, but they also want to be able to personalize their purchases. eBay Exact brings these two desires into one shopping experience," says Steve Yankovich, Vice President of Innovation and New Ventures for eBay.
