Josef Prusa writes, "if you have a printer with moving print bed, your normal timelapse videos would have the printed object blurred from moving around. But if you put a camera on another axis synced with the printbed movement, you will have perfect image."

Or, we can design a machine that doesn't constantly move the bed as the Y axis. I think it looks dumb and causes problems in excess of the cost savings.

by the way, you can trigger your camera from your printers controller board. marlin firmware has even prepared a command line for that you just have to un-comment, and assign to a pin on your arduino

"things only josef prusa would do." if josef prusa would familiarize himself a little bit more with photography, he would know that increasing the shutter speed, and using a flash, plus triggering the camera only when the bed is crossing the Y-center would be a cheaper and less complicated way to get blur free time lapse images
