3D Systems, a leader in 3D printing, announced this month two distribution agreement in Asia.

On Nov.1, 2013, 3D Systems announced that Canon Marketing, part of the Canon group, will market and sell its professional products in Japan. Under the arrangement, Canon will market and sell all of 3D Systems' advanced manufacturing 3D printers, including its direct metal printers.

Canon Marketing has decades of industrial equipment sales service and applications experience and this arrangement will give 3D Systems wide access to Japan's market.

Today, 3D Systems announced that Sindoh, the largest Korean 2D printer manufacturer, agreed to distribute its Cube and CubeX consumer 3D printers in South Korea. Sindoh is the leading Korean office solutions provider with over 500 reseller channels and decades of proven sales and service expertise.

"From our investigation of the exciting prosumer and consumer 3D opportunity, we concluded that the Cube is the easiest to use and most intuitive to operate," Sindoh's Public Relations Director, Cheol-woo Lee said.

Sindoh was further attracted to the Cube and CubeX due to their affordability and the Cube's certification for home use and safe printability, according to 3D Systems. Sindoh plans to expand its website to include 3D content and open 3D printing experience showrooms, dedicated to introducing customers to 3D printing and letting them experience and explore it firsthand.

"We expect 2013 to be our most exciting new product introduction year ever", says 3D Systems.

CEO Avi Reichental said earlier the company has two big growth opportunities. "In the here and now, and in the near term, it's the migration from the traditional [sand] box of rapid prototyping firmly into advanced manufacturing opportunities, both in aerospace, automotive, and healthcare, with patient-specific medical devices," he said. "And equally as excited about the opportunity in consumer. The advanced manufacturing opportunity is more obvious and more mature and actionable in the here and now. The consumer one we're continuing to develop, and we're very gratified by the results."
