The Zortrax M200 3D printer is a $1,899 3D printer made in Poland. The company behind the Zortrax, Gadgets3D launched the Zortrax M200 on Kickstarter and reached the goal on June 21, 2013. On December 31, 2013 Gadgets3D announced that the printers were shipped to all of their 80 backers and they have received positive feedback from their first users.

According to the team, the printers were also shipped with additional features such as a special designed extruder with 3 heating points and auto-calibration of the build platform. The included Z-Suite Software has an advanced script to generate an optimized structure support material. The support structure is printed from the same extruding unit and doesn't require the use of additional materials. In addition, with the new modifications the layer precision is improved. "A model printed with 200 microns resolution can look like one printed with 50 microns on other 3D printers. The result is the same, but the model is printed twice as fast." says Zortrax CEO Rafał Tomasiak.

Zortrax also announced this week that they have decided to provide one year warranty to all Zortrax M200 users. "We had to perform many different tests on dozens of devices which slightly delayed shipment of the first batch of printers. Only after we refined all the components of the printer, we decided to grant a one year warranty," says Tomasiak. The team is currently working on detailed terms of warranty and service.

Totally 20 people are working full-time on the Zortrax project. The team is currently working on building the community and preparing new designs for Zortrax users. They plan to introduce new types of printing materials such as Z-PLA and Z-PC-ABS. "In 2014, the company is going to produce more than 5,000 printers and at least 30,000 spools of filament." says Tomasiak. "We want Zortrax project to be an all-in-one solution. Zortrax M200 3D Printer is like an engine which we fuel up for printing, but the rest is up to the users. Their feedback is important for us." Tomasiak added.

The Zortrax is an amazing printer, I'm very happy with it. The quality is great and there are a few materials to choose from however still no PLA (which Zortrax promised) and I would like to be able to print that. I now found there is a temperature control for the Zortax M200: http://www.z-temp.co/ Going to try that and upgrade my 3D printer :-)

Warning: Think of the worst company you could ever deal with - no phone number and no replies to your email after they take money. But you can get in touch with them thru their website forum ? No - as of now it's switched off because off 2 many complaints on it - save yourself time this is a failing company who don't look after the customer. If you are an investor - they are looking for people who want to lose money at the moment !

Well, zortrax lied to all of us european backers, they increased filament cost twice, they demonstrated very good prints on kickstarter but now when we get the printer we have to wait for the demonstrated features to become available??? -The resolution is limited to 0.19 -No temperature control for extruder or heat plate -The auto calibration should be called manual as it's not available now -The print plate has simple perf board that is not flat -Prints has problems with sticking to perf board and warps The kickstarter featured 1.75microns positioning accuracy and 20microns z layers, now update manual shows 1.5microns positioning accuracy and 25microns z layer. Anyones else smells lies here, how can you have 1.5 or 1.75 positioning accuracy with belts? Even machines that cost 50.000$ with ball screws everywhere does not has anything close to this. This printer is a scam, the current users are treated very bad on the zortrax forum, posts are removed, only posts that praise the printer are left. So I would stay away from this company.

I agree! This is one of the best printer. Z-ABS data sheet looks great, and quality of prints are amazing. Good luck guys and I hope we will see new printer in the short future!

@Nicolas I think this is not FFF printer this is powerful LPD technology made by Zortrax :) Love this machine, I saw many printers in my short life, but this is highest league! :) Good luck Zortrax Team - Let power will with you :D

I am a lucky Kickstarter backer and owner : the best FFF printer I have ever seen (the mechanical design is beautiful) ! A little disapointement though, for my tinkering soul : nothing to tinker about, this thing just works out of the box. You click, it prints (and the quality really is great)... Only ABS support right now with the beta software, but the new software with other printing materials is awaited soon...
