3D printer manufacturer ExOne today introduces Inconel Alloy 625, a nickel-based alloy, as newest addition to its 3D printing metal portfolio. This introduction represents ExOne's first single metal alloy for 3D printing industrial applications at more than 99 percent density, utilizing its binder jetting technology.

Inconel alloy 625 is a material with excellent resistant to oxidation and corrosion. It has good high temperature strength and is able to retain its strength even in extreme environments such as high pressure or wide temperature ranges. It is commonly used for components where exposure to sea water and high mechanical stresses are required. It is often used in the aerospace, chemical and energy markets, with applications including gas turbine blades, filtration and separation, heat exchanger and molding processes.

The ExOneInconel Alloy 625 has been optimized especially for processing on ExOne's M-Flex and X1-Lab 3D printers. The M-Flex 3D printer is a fast, mid-sized 3D metal printer capable of printing in a range of materials. It features a build speed of 30-60 seconds/layer and minimum 0.15mm layer thickness. The X1-Lab 3D printers is designed for research and educational customers and works with powdered metal and glass materials.

The Company expects to commercialize Inconel alloy 625 around June 1, 2014.
