Have you ever wanted to be able to turn your ideas into 3D printed reality? Makerbot has officially launched its MakerBot PrintShop app, a free iOS tool that is designed for people with no experience in 3D printing and no design experience.

The PrintShop app has a simple and intuitive interface that allows users to virtually create custom 3D prints in a matter of minutes. Users can also select a 3D design from a curated collection of simple 3D models that easily print on all MakerBot Replicator 3D printers.

"With the introduction of MakerBot PrintShop, we believe we have finally provided a piece of software that helps bring 3D printing to the masses. We have removed the obstacle of not knowing 3D design to be able to 3D print. MakerBot PrintShop takes that challenge out of the equation and makes 3D printing fun and easy, as well as accessible for all ages and skill levels," said MakerBot CEO Bre Pettis in a statement.

For the first release of MakerBot PrintShop, the company has created three tools for easily making customizable 3D printable models:

Type Maker: Type Maker is the first type tool created specifically for 3D printing letters, words, nameplates, sign and more. With Type Maker, the creator can make amazing fun and funky signs, blowing them into fanned-out proportions or printing them on the straight and narrow.

Ring Maker: With Ring Maker, budding jewelry designers can custom-size and 3D print creative rings that sport a range of fun and interchangeable tops, such as a crown, bell, diamond, viking helmet, baseball cap, flower, owl, turtle shell, coffeemaker, cone, and even a photo frame with a photo insert to showcase a loved one or favorite scene.

Bracelet Maker: Bracelet Maker allows the user to create, size and 3D print sophisticated bracelets featuring abstract patterns and designs.

The printable models generated from these tools are optimized for MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers and can be printed without supports.

"All MakerBot PrintShop selected prints are MakerBot verified to ensure virtually full-proof 3D printing. No guesswork, sizing, or use of complicated design software. MakerBot PrintShop also works over WiFi, so just log on, create and print to a WiFi enabled Fifth Generation MakerBot Replicator 3D Printer." explained MakerBot.

MakerBot Printshop is now available to download for free in the iTunes App Store.
