As some of you may remember, TYTAN 3D, a polish 3D printing start-up led by Janusz Wojcik and Pawel Rokita, launched their website and their first product - Goliat Extruder, a full metal extruder for FDM 3D printers in May. Today the company informed CD3D, that their Goliat Extruder is set to launch on Indiegogo next week, looking to raise fund for the full production of Goliat Extruder.
The Goliat extruder is driven by NEMA 17 stepper motor and it supports 1.75 mm and 3 mm filaments. It is fully assembled and features J-Head hot end which is machined from a solid piece of metal, making it highly reliable. The extruder has also space for mounting a 40 mm x 40 mm fan. It has two versions: standard and bowden.
The Goliat extruder is priced at 49$, which`s a competitive price compared to typical extruders on the market. Janusz Wojcik – co-founder of TYTAN 3D explains: "After some extensive tests, several prototypes of the extruder turned out to be very good products so we decided to start the production. The first series production was sold really quickly. Our friends started to ask if we will launch it on on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. After careful consideration we decided to give it a try..."
TYTAN 3D has sold couples of Goliat Extruders all around the world, to Europe, USA, Canada, India, South Korea or even Africa. Nevertheless, The profit is still not enough for them to start full production of the extruders. That is why the team is trying to raise more funds through crowdfunding cmpaign.
The Goliat extruder has successfully tested on several 3D printers, such as polish HBot 3D, made by well known Arek Spiewak (formerly working in Trinity Labs and was part of the team developing Smoothie Project) and DDDBot. TYTAN 3D believes that their Indiegogo campaign will get more companies interested in their product and further cooperation.
Janusz Wojcik and Pawel Rokita are extremely busy men. Besides working on their extruder, they also work on two 3D printers: FDM Fiber 3D and delta printer that prints in ceramics. They are also well known in Poland for organising the biggest 3D printing show in Poland – Day of 3D Printing in Kielce in Spring, which gathered over 2000 visitors in just one day.
The delta 3D printer was first presented at Day of 3D Printing in Kielce. The team has been working really hard on this project. Pawel Rokita has spent enormous amount of time to calibrate it and make test prints. Janusz takes care of extruder and mechanics. The Delta 3D Printer works several hours a day. The team believes that the printer will be ready during the next Day of 3D Printing event in Kielce in September and it will print in front of the audience.
