3D Printhuset (Danish for "The 3D Print House") announced the grand opening of the largest 3D printing store in Denmark. With a floor area of almost 3,000 square feet (279 sqm) spread over two levels, the store will stock a wide range of personal 3D printers from leading American, European and Asian manufacturers like 3D Systems, XYZ Printing and Artec.
The Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science, Mrs. Sofie Carsten Nielsen, will cut the red ribbon at 3D Printhuset's VIP opening reception on Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 16.00 and receive her own personal "Mini Me" figurine.
Located in downtown Copenhagen, 3D Printhuset's showroom and shop will showcase 3D scanners, 3D printed products, supplies and accessories. In addition, customers will have the opportunity to try out various personal 3D printers and scanners in 3D Printhuset workshop. 3D Printhuset will also provide instructional courses and workshops for those interested in the new technology.
Jim Larsen, the manager of 3D Printhuset, said: "Denmark has always been fast to adopt new technologies, but for some reasons, Denmark has been quite passive on the 3D print scene until now. New technology like personal 3D printing needs to be seen to be believed. By making the technology accessible in a broad scale to the general public, we aim to put 3D printing on the map and become the hub for 3D printing in Denmark".
3D Printhuset will also be offering in-store 3D printing services to customers using professional printers and scanners. Jim Larsen added: "This new technology makes it possible to manufacture one-of-a-kind objects. Personally, I am looking forward to handing over the "Mini Me" figurine of the Minister at the opening reception. I really believe that this will help the public and our potential customers understand one of the many potentials that this new technology provides."
3D Printhuset A/S is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Danish holding company The 3D Group A/S, established by a group of Danish senior serial entrepreneurs, investors and executives. The 3D Group A/S intends to make further investments into the 3D printing area, including setting up distribution in the Nordic countries.
