Dutch 3D printing filament maker ColorFabb is known for developing innovative materials for desktop 3D printers. Founded in 2013 by Ruud Rouleaux, ColorFabb has successfully introduced materials such as Woodfill filaments, Fabb XT (Co-Polyester) and Bronzefill filaments.
'BronzeFill has become a huge hit for ColorFabb and we've seen many great examples of excellent 3D printed models on their social media.' notes ColorFabb. 'Apparently printing with metal on desktop 3D printers is something the maker community is really interested in.'
To add more options for makers community, the startup today introduced brand new material copperFill. Similar to bronzeFill it's a PLA blend with micronized copper powder. This means that the material can be polished and finished with similar methods as bronzeFill.

ColorFabb announced that it takes pre-order now and the first orders will start shipping by end of the Octorber. Pricing will be similar to BronzeFill (bronzeFill is priced at €49.95 for 750 grams).

ColorFabb shares also some initial insights about printing with copperFill. "Their testing showed reliable results using the all metal hot-ends, such as the E3D and the Makerbot Replicator 2 hotend. Hotends which use a teflon isolator coupler can generate adhesion to the copper filament possibly leading to clogs and is there for not recommended for novice users yet."
The 3D printed models shown above will be on display at the colorFabb booth during the TCT Show.
