Have you ever wanted to be able to turn your ideas into 3D printed reality? In June Makerbot launched its MakerBot PrintShop app, a free iOS tool that allows anyone with an iPad to virtually create custom 3D prints in a matter of minutes. Users can also select a 3D design from a curated collection of simple 3D models that easily print on all MakerBot Replicator 3D printers.

The first tools available in the app were Type Maker, Ring Maker and Bracelet Maker. Now, MakerBot adds a fourth tool to the app: Vase Maker. MakerBot announces today an enhanced and updated version of this iPad app, MakerBot PrintShop version 1.0.5, which includes the new Vase Maker tool and is available now from the iTunes App Store.

With the MakerBot PrintShop Vase Maker tool, anyone can instantly become a designer able to create beautiful custom sculpted vases, bowls and containers, with only the swipe of a finger and the selection of intuitive tools. The MakerBot PrintShop Vase Maker can be used to create custom potted plant holders, vases, chalices, desk accessories, bowls and containers with more than four (4) different base patterns and many possible combinations.

"We've been working on creating easy-to-use tools for those who are interested in creating custom designs easily, and MakerBot PrintShop is a great way to jump into design without any previous experience." noted Jenny Lawton, acting CEO of MakerBot. "It is so simple that anyone can make something and then 3D print it. I personally have a growing collection – I can't wait to see what people make!"

The MakerBot PrintShop Vase Maker tool is optimized for use with MakerBot Replicator 3D Printers. You can download MakerBot PrintShop for free from the iTunes App Store.
