Up to now, 3D printing has been most useful in creating prototypes. But with companies such as Hasbro integrating 3D printing into their strategy, more companies in the toy industry are susceptible to the impact of 3D printing.

Finnish 3D printing marketplace Lanzer, a new company that has recently entered into 3D printing arena, announced that it has reached an agreement with two leading entertainment firms, Warner Brothers Consumer Products and ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

"Launzer is the #1 service to launch virtual content as branded 3D printed merchandise," Heikki Karvonen of Launzer tells us. "And today we have announced two new icebreaking deals with ITV and Warner Bros.. Meaning next year we are bringing ITVs Thunderbirds classic characters as well as Warner Bros characters into the market as 3D printed figures."

The new deals will expand Launzer.com's portfolio to 30 properties featuring brands across entertainment, gaming and design, which will all launch throughout 2015.

The deal with Warner Brothers is reached through company's partner Nordic Licensing and initially it's targeted at Scandinavia and Benelux market. But it will allow all the European consumers to enjoy the whole WB catalogue from Batman up to Looney Toons as 3D Printed figurines – first time ever in the history of 3D Printing.

"Nordic Licensing Company is excited about having ventured into this new area of merchandising together with Launzer.com as we see it as an inevitable that 3D printing at some point will touch upon world famous brand and IPs." explains Category Manager, Anders Krygell from Nordic Licensing Company. "This is why we are embracing the opportunity to work together with Launzer.com to make officially branded 3D printed merchandise available to consumers. We believe that we will see a lot more to 3D printing in the future so we chose to be a part of the development rather than being on the sideline."

The partnership with ITV Studios Global Entertainment will bring the iconic and original 1960's Thunderbirds TV series characters into the 3D Printing marketplace for the very first time. Classic Thunderbirds is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015 and as part of this special year, Launzer.com will launch innovative and limited edition 3D Printed collectable figurines across the UK and Ireland.

"The deals with Warner Brothers and ITV are remarkable milestones for Launzer.com", says Kari Voutila, CEO & Founder of 3D Online Factory – Finnish start-up behind Launzer.com. "In less than 12 months we have been able to have on board world class players like these two. Even more important is that during 2015 we can offer to fans of Batman, Superman, Thunderbirds etc. unique and original content in Launzer. With more news to publish in January and Launzer's mobile functionalities in development we are really looking forward for 2015."

The Batman and other Warner Brother figurines will be made available in spring 2015. The launch of the Classic Thundebirds collection will start from April 2015.
