Desktop 3D printer manufacturer German RepRap announces today the release of the third generation of its PRotos 3D printer kit. The new PRotos 3D printer offers several improvements, including: 3-point mounted printing bed for easier calibration, milled aluminium profiles for rigidity, a cable loom with pre-crimped connectors and fully pre-assembled circuit boards.
The PRotos v3 kits are available in two versions: the PRotos v3 Base Kit and the PRotos v3 Full Kit that are easily and quickly assembled at home.
The PRotos v3 Full Kit is a full-featured kit and comes with two extruders, 12V heated bed, LC display and SD card reader for a computer-independent operation. It can print with all types of filaments available at German RepRap's shop such as PLA, ABS, PS, PVA, PP, Laybrick, Laywood, Bendlay and smartABS.
The PRotos v3 base KIT is designed for users who want to print with PLA. It has one extruder, but you can always add a second extruder in the future, as you need it. The heater bed, SD card reader and LCD display can also be retrofitted later if necessary.
According to German RepRap, future improvements will inlcude preconfigured motor driver, simplified belt tensioners, USB interface and more.
The PRotos v3 Base Kit is priced at 999 euro, and the PRotos v3 Full Kit costs 1,449 Euro (all incl. GST). Both kits are available via German RepRap's online-shop or their resellers.

it's a I3 with a louzy metal frame. look at the rubber foots, that thing will create so much noise that it needed rubber foot to make it less noisy, and you can't even print ABS with it. like all machines from german reprap, cheap looking but expensive pricetag. Not sure who they are targeting... it looks like a some kid who assembled it in their basement

German RepRap produce a lot of useless machines. Why have 550 x 425 x 510 mm printer to print only 205 x 210 x 140 mm? And despite of many materials available listed, any 3d printer can not print except PLA without closed build chamber.
