NinjaTek, the 3D printing materials division of Fenner Drives, has announced the global release of two 3D printing filaments: Cheetah, a fast, flexible filament, and Armadillo, a high-performance, rigid material. Both filaments were first announced at CES 2016 in January.
Back in January, NinjaTek announced the release of its Cheetah and Armadillo 3D printing materials, both designed for industrial use, at CES 2016. The company has now made the two filaments available worldwide, giving AM users everywhere the chance to hunt down the fast-printing Cheetah and its tough-as-nails Armadillo cousin. Just like its big cat namesake, Cheetah is all about (printing) speed, while the resilient Armadillo offers supreme strength, toughness, and abrasion resistance.
Cheetah, for those who didn’t research (or beta test) the material following its CES announcement, is one of the fastest 3D printing materials on the market, with speeds exceeding 60mm/s. The polyurethane material can be used with ABS-optimized print settings and offers excellent interlayer adhesion, making it ideal for industrial application such as seals, plugs, hinges, sleeves, and snap-fit parts. The 3mm filament is available in 750g spools for $67.99, and comes in seven colors.
“The focus in developing [Cheetah] was optimizing the user experience,” said Wendy Booker, Vice President and General Manager at NinjaTek. “As a result, our Cheetah material is not only easy to print, but it provides higher impact, toughness, and abrasion numbers than any other flexible material on the market.”

With the Armadillo 3D printing material, NinjaTek had other priorities in mind. The high-performance, rigid material provides 90% higher abrasion resistance than nylon materials, while also being 86 times tougher than ABS. According to NinjaTek, Armadillo is an ideal material for bridging, since it is highly unlikely to warp, and its durability and resistance to fracturing makes it suitable for 3D printed braces, gears, fasteners, and protective covers. The material is available in both 1.75mm (500g) and 3mm (750g) for $47.99, and comes in four colors.

NinjaTek, which also makes the uber-popular NinjaFlex flexible filament and several other materials, is the 3D printing materials division of Fenner Drives, a conveying and power transmission specialist. Its two new materials were initially slated for a January/February release.
