Italian 3D printer manufacturer WASP has introduced its latest product: the DeltaWASP 20 40 Turbo2 3D printer. The new 3D printer, notable for its fast printing speed, is available in two versions: the Spitfire Red Extruder and ZEN Dual Extruder.
WASP, which is perhaps best known for its massive BigDeltaWASP 12m 3D printer that is being used to construct a whole eco-village, has released a number of delta style 3D printers in recent years. Its latest, the DeltaWASP 20 40 Turbo2, is heralded as the company’s fastest 3D printer to date and is described by WASP as “a revised and improved version of the standard DeltaWASP 20 40 Turbo.”
Among the new features that set the new 3D printer above its predecessor are an integrated industrial quality 32bit board, a carriage-sliding system which improves the printer’s speed and accuracy, a more efficient cooling system and insulation, and optional support for 2 high-power extruders.
The 3D printer can be ordered with either a Spitfire Red Extruder, which comes with a Spitfire LT Cartridge, or the ZEN Dual Extruder, which comes with two ZEN cartridges. Both options come equipped with a 0.4 mm diameter steel nozzle. WASP adds that its Red Spitfire Extruder is compatible with the Clay Kit 2.0 with LDM Extruder, which can be used to print ceramic materials, and that you can upgrade the ZEN Dual Extruder 3D printer to be compatible with the Red Spitfire Extruder, affecting the print speed.
In terms of specifications, the new DeltaWASP 20 40 Turbo2 3D printer boasts a build volume of up to 200 x 400 mm (Ø x h), a maximum print speed of 500 mm/s, and a travel speed of up to 1000 mm/s. With a minimum layer height of 50 microns, the 3D printer is also suitable for printing small parts or fine details. The printer’s heated bed has a maximum temperature of 120 C°.

The 3D printer is also compatible with a wide range of 3D printing materials, including PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, Flex, Polypropilene, ABS+PC, Nylon, and Nylon+Carbon. This broad variety is largely due to the printer’s advanced insulation system which enables the print chamber to reach printing-friendly temperatures faster and more efficiently. Unlike many delta-style 3D printers, the DeltaWASP 20 40 Turbo2 has an enclosed print chamber.
Additional features include the Free Zed System, which enables users to 3D print a model starting from a specific height; a resurrection system which makes it easy to resume a print in case of power failure or another type of interruption; and an end filament sensor.
