IndieGoGo and Kickstarter are both online crowdfunding platform providing inventors and artists with the opportunity to get online donations for their project, and at the same time to raise awareness about their project. In 2011 there are a number of projects in the 3D printing industry that were looking to raise money for their projects and have decided to give online crowdfunding a shot by using Kickstarter or IndieGoGo.

Here we made a list to show all the campaigns on IndieGoGo and Kickstarter. Check it out how it goes with those projects and their results:

Notes:

The above list is sorted by Funded in percentage.

What kind of projects can win a campaign? Those who are creative and innovative in design, those who create products accessible and affordable to the general public, and those who best execute the projects are winning. The quality of campaigns for 3D printing is getting amazingly high - We expect that more makers are inspired by crowd-funding style and there will a lot of great campaigns to be launched in 2012.

We can add "CosPrint" to the list. Our indiegogo campaign started last week. 3D Printing for the Cosplay community. "Fusing ‘costumed play’ and 3D printing technology to push the limits of imagination for cosplayers and offer artists new ways to market themselves." http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cosprint https://www.facebook.com/3DCosPrint

Filabot: Plastic Filament Maker entry is wrong, they raised over 39,000 USD and not 3,900 which list as 39% raised, but it's rather 390%.
