Three years ago, Keanu Reeves, the Canadian American actor behind Neo, was spotted eating a sandwich on a New York park bench and was photographed by the Splash News photographer Ron Asadorian. On June 3rd, 2010, Reddit user rockon4life posted an image with the phrase "I really enjoy acting…Because when I act, I'm no longer me" in a thread entitled "Keanu. More sadness in comments". Afterwards sympathy for Keanu spread virally across internet, and the meme "Sad Keanu" was born.
Two years ago, Sad Keanu was reborn, as a tiny realistic 3D printed miniature. This full colour 3D printed figure is available on Shapeways' store for just €42. Very recently, this life-like 3D-printing story "Me and Sad Keanu" creating buzz all around again. Atlantic Senior Editor Alexis Madigral spent some quality time with one, and mini-Keanu is photographed in different scenarios. (Images courtesy of Alexis Madrigal.) Let's take a look, and... he is still pretty sad!
At the recent junket for his new indie movie Generation Um… Keanu Reeves met his miniature match. When ETonline handed him a "Sad Keanu" meme figurine, he immediately played with it on the back of his chair. "What's this?! Oh my god,"..."You know, like when you do those things -- 'Heyyy! I'm in Paris! Heeyyyy, I'm falling down.'" Watch Keanu and his 3D printed miniature match below:
