3D scanner company Artec Group announces the launch of a new 3D-scanning and printing service that lets you easily scan yourself at home and get a 3D print of your figurine.

You need to have a Microsoft Kinect for either Xbox 360 or Windows and a computer. All you need to do is to properly position the Kinect and follow simple voice instructions to scan yourself using a Kinect. You could try different outfits and poses to find the perfect one you want to print.

Once the scanning is done, your captured data will be processed and uploaded the Shapify.me website. You can then order a 3D print of your very own figurine by hitting the "3D Print" button.

In a couple of days you will get a 3D Mini-Me at 1:20th of your height (≈5-7 cm / 2-2.7 inch) delivered to your doorstep. Every figurine will be printed using white and multicolored plastic material and shipped by Sculpteo.

The 3D printed figurine costs $59 (44 euro) with free shipping to the U.S. and Europe. Currently Shapify.me doesn't allow saving 3D scans and only the scans made with Shapify.me can be 3D printed using Shapify.me web interface.

Take a look at the short tutorial below. You can download the Shapify.me app here.
