Just before the holiday, 3D printing shop Ideaz3D opened a 3D scanning and 3D printing booth at a crowded mall in northern Mexico. Using a variety of 3D technologies, including the Sense handheld 3D scanner by 3D Systems, Skanect software, and a Makerbot Replicator 2 3D Printer, the booth operators were able to create replicas right on site.

For 175 pesos, or about $13.50, Ideaz3D staff will 3D scan a 3d image of you and print a miniature version of yourself. The 15 cm figurines are sold from 240 to 270 pesos.

Watch a short video below that shows 3D printing phenomenon in Mexico. If you are close by, be sure to visit their booth at Galerias Mall Sonora.
