Startup 3DMedifab UG has launched two projects on Indiegogo: 3D printing pen and a compact Iceman3D desktop 3D printer.

3D printing pen

The new Cloudio2go 3D printer pen is very similar to the 3Doodler, the very first 3D printing pen that raised over $2.3 million on Kickstarter in 2013. But the Cloudio2go 3D printer pen is designed to be lighter and easy to use, especially for kids. It is more colorful and has a better heating process, intelligent standby and works with all 1.7 mm diameter ABS and PLA filaments, according to the company.

The crowdfunding campaign for Cloudio2go 3D printer pen will run until June 4th, with a goal to raise $5,000 for getting discounted prices for the plastics. You will be able to get the pen and thirty 12 inch filament strips for a pledge of $89.

Specs:

  • Extrusion speed : adjustable
  • Extruder temperature : 160-250 degrees Celsius
  • Nozzle diameter: 0.4 - 0.7 mm

Update May 28, 2014:

Two readers tipped us that "Both of them are owned by a Chinese company Iceman3D". The company is located in Zhejiang, China. Its webstore sells two similar 3D printers with different size:

This 3D pen has been on sale in Germany for some time: http://www.pearl.de/a-PV8645-1122.shtml I'm not sure why you would need to crowdfund a mere distributor.

As a 3D Printer Manufacturer and Reseller of chinese Printers located in Germany, I can assure you that it would be impossible to develop and manufacture a 3D Printer like This for a Price below 600€ in Germany. Always watch out if you back Crowdfunding Campaign that show no picture or Video Material of the Development. In most cases its just a quick cash grab to order larger quantities from a supplier that has already finished the product. I mean they couldve at least changed the Branding on the Printer. Though i must say the printer looks really nice i may order one from china.
