With the World Cup fast approaching, millions of fans across the world will be gearing themselves up to celebrate the world's biggest single-sport competition.
To help you fit in with the soccer-loving fans at your local bar, Dutch company 3Dwergen has come up with the SambaCan — a 3D printable drinking can holder & samba shaker in one!
Designed by Nanning de Jong of 3Dwergen and Lennert van der Laan & Gert Groeneveld of Kiva Kuva, the SambaCan is a gift to the worldwide 3D printing community. Anyone can have the SambaCan 3D printed and use it to "support your national team in the FIFA World Cup Brazil and get some 3D printing vibes out there", says de Jong.
You can either 3D print it yourself by downloading the file through Youmagine, or go to 3D Hubs to get it printed via one of the 3D printer owners in your local area. The SambaCan drink can holder is designed to keep your drinks from getting warm from your hands. Once you finish your drink, you simply break off the pull ring, put it inside the can and place the can upside down in the SambaCan. The result is a samba shaker that you could make some noises with it at local bar while watching your favourite team playing.
The SambaCan was initally devised by Jules The and Dalton Noland and is now released together with 3D Hubs. The SambaCan 3D model is offered to everyone under the Creative Commons license.
3Dwergen invites you to 3D print your SambaCan in your team's nation colors or modify the 3D model as your wish. You can share what you made by sending the team some pics and/or video's via Twitter @SambaCan2014.
