Dutch 3D printer manufacturer Leapfrog announced Friday their new Creatr HS 3D printer, which prints up to 5 times faster than the regular Creatr, according to the company.

The new Creatr HS has a large print volume of 14.8 liters and is able to print objects up to 30cm long. It also features dual extruder, a 4 inch full color LCD screen and the ability to print directly from USB. The dual extruder allows users to print with two types of materials or two colors, or with water soluble support material for full design freedom.

"Due to continuous technological development Leapfrog has achieved a significant increase of printing speed." notes Leapfrog. "By lowering the weight of the extruder carriage the Creatr HS is capable of printing up to 300mm/s."

The new Creatr HS 3D printer is compatible with many different materials: ABS, PLA, PVA, Nylon, Woodplastic, Birckplastic, etc.

Specifications:

  • Build Volume: 27x28x18 cm / 10.7x11x7 inches (Single extruder), 27x16x18 cm / (10.3×10.7×7 inches)(Dual extruders)

Our printer had some issues, but customer support worked really fast and sent replacement parts without big problems. I give big plus just for this factor!

I have to admit, it has been a bit difficult for me to get started with the Creatr but that was purely calibration and settings. After that, it prints perfectly. In fact, the best quality I've seen. Especially at this speed. @Bohdan Prague: I reckon it's just a settings or calibration issue. Or perhaps you need a new nozzle?

Just saw some preveiw prints on the HS, insanely fast. I though this would deliver bad quality but this is far beyond what my ultimaker gets done in the same time. Can't wait untill mine arrives.

Hi guys, I do not recognize any of the bad negative feedback. I am a Creatr owner myself and after some tweaking I am now printing beautifully with two different materials (soluble supportmaterial). The support team of lpfrg is very helpful as well. YOu could access them here (www.support.lpfrg.com) but maybe I can help out some of the others here? just give me a shout!

So basically they came first with a slow printer and no sd card printing capability year ago... now they make it sound like they are breaking the "speed barrier" while printing at 250+ speed has been done by many other printers. including wireless printing and sd card printing...... It's like selling fire while everyone has electricity... then come with some press release about how you are going to sell electricity and is going to change the world haha

About the build volume, see this: https://www.lpfrg.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/build-size.jpg Hint: the build area is not rectangular.

I'm intrigued. 10 microns? It beats SLA printers like the form1.

At first the should increase their quality print, at this moment prints from this printer is one of the worst quality which I ever seen! Just read about the problems with the printer and poor quality prints on their forums to see that this company don't know nothing about make printers, each RepRap gives several times better quality for half the price. Personally, I would not recommend this printer

How did they calculate the build volume? 27 x 28 x 18 cm is only 13,6 liters and not 14.8, like the quoted.
