Our regular readers will know that we also sometimes report on some peculiar stories out of the web's 3D printing community. Now here's something particularly fun, addicting and perfect for 3D printing enthusiasts: Live Print.

Everyone who owns a 3D printer will have done it, especially during the first few printing projects: stare at a printer in action for what feels like hours, while it prints even the tiniest and inconsequential parts. Even the curious who don't have printer at home will have stared at one of the many YouTube clips of a printer in action.

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with it! We all need a 3D fix every now and again, right? That's exactly what makes this LivePrint concept so intriguing. It's basically a live feed of a 3D printer in action. Want to get a quick 3D printing break from your stressful existence? Then just go to LivePrint.io and stare at a printer in real time for a while, just as I just did for ten minutes. They were printing a tree frog.

Now, quite little is known about this LivePrint feed, as it's just a webpage, a streaming service and a chat box. We don't know who is printing or where, but that does little to harm the concept.

Whoever they are, the team behind LivePrint does add a wonderfully playful dimension as well. For rather than just sharing the live feed, you can also vote for the next project to be live printed. Users can choose of three different projects, and the one with the most votes will be fabricated next. There is even a chance of winning the object you voted for! Isn't that cool?

Therefore we advise everyone looking for a quick 3D printing fix to check out this cool web service here. You can vote for the next object you'd like to see printed by using an email address.
