From desktop 3D printers to 3D printed designs; iMakr has them all. The company operates one of the worlds largest independent 3D printing stores located in London and New York, as well as their online store in the form of iMakr.com.
This week, in partnership with Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche – The Paris Luxury Department Store, iMakr is launching "Scandles" – The Candle Mini-You. Using 3D Scanning and 3D Printing technology, iMakr will be creating bespoke, one-of-a-kind candles from a 3D printed version of you.
iMakr has innovated previously in this field, realising Mini-You's first in full colour sandstone at Selfridges, and then chocolate at Harvey Nichols. Now for the first time they are inviting you to celebrate the nature of transience with The Candle Mini-You.
From today, customers will be able enter into a custom built, highly specialised scanning booth located at Le Bon Marche Store in Central Paris, where their likeness will be digitally captured in 3 dimensions.
This digital file will be sent to the iMakr Store in London where a specialised 3D printer will print the subject in question. A silicone mould will then be cast from the printed model and premium quality, all natural candle wax will be used to create the final product from this mould, with options available for 5 different colours and scents. The bust will then be delivered to the customer's address or can be collected directly from Le Bon Marche at 24 Rue de Sèvres, Paris. The product is launching in Paris, however Scandles will also be made available to a UK audience.
This one of a kind product makes a truly unique gift this Christmas - now you can surprise your loved ones this holiday season with a Scandle from iMakr and Le Bon Marche.
if you live far from Paris or even abroad don't worry, iMakr's offering the service that they can create a mini-you bust from just 3 images. You can follow the instructions here. For best results iMakr recommends that you go and get 3D scanned at their booth.
All Mini-You Scandles come on a black marble base as a standard and are priced at £199 for a six inch bust, and £299 for an eight inch bust.
