Pirx 3D, a 3D printer manufacturer from Poland has just released a new model of printer. The Pirx One is a stylish machine with high-resolution prints and convenient built in features such as auto bed-leveling and an LCD interface screen, which the company says makes printing simple, fast, and easy.
Pirx 3D is being released in two models, the Pirx One 1.1 and Pirx One 1.2. The two versions have identical build volumes and resolution capabilities, but the 1.2 is upgraded with a heated bed to allow for printing with ABS filament. Heated beds also enhance general print quality regardless of material. The price tags are 1000 EUR for the Pirx One 1.1 and 1200 EUR for the 1.2. A bit pricy, but its alleged performance and features can make you wonder if it might be worth the extra money. No print speeds are explicitly listed in the specs but they claim that it prints at very high speeds, so we'll just have to wait and hear from users for more on that.
Pirx One features and specs:
- Layer thickness: 0.05 mm-0.3 mm
- Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm
- Connectivity: USB, SD card
- Printing materials: PLA, Nylon, PS, Laywood, Ninjaflex, ABS
- Power supply: ~150 W
- Heated bed
- LCD screen
- Weight: 10 kg
The fact that it is made of solid steel and weighs 10 kg means that there is less vibration compared to similar 3D printers. According to the company, this makes the accuracy of each printed layer better than Pirx's past model that had a wooden frame. Also it's an aesthetically impressive machine could look good in almost any home. Pirx 3D also provides "comprehensive technical support and aftersales service," so if you do have issues they can be reached by email or phone for help.

Pirx 3D is another Polish company entering the market alongside companies like Jelwek and Zortrax. Pirx printers are manufactured in a factory in Cracow, Poland and they all come with a two-year warranty. Included with purchase are tutorials and training, and they will ship to anywhere in the world. There is a growing trend of European companies entering the 3D printing space, but with this new printer it looks like Pirx just might be ready to compete with the best of them for household 3D printer sales.
