Culinary creative consultancy TourDeFork, a multidisciplinary design studio, places itself as an intermediary in the food industry, interpreting and creating new culinary experiences, innovative solutions and visual languages.

For the month of December 2014, TourDeFork teamed up with Italian magazine CASAfacile to showcase a collection of five laser cut acrylic rings which can be decorated with cakes, fruit, sweets or any other delicious edibles that comes to mind. TourDeFork has a monthly column at CASAfacile called "The Future of DIY" where they present projects and tutorials that explain in simple terms what rapid prototyping technologies are and how they work.

Using 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC technologies TourDeFork designs easy and accessible DIY projects which showcases how DIYers could repurpose old items simply by adding new elements. These unusual ring designs come with five different type of holders at the top and can be used to transform desserts and fruits into precious decorative elements to be displayed. And you can still enjoy the food afterwards without creating waste.

Earlier Tourdefork also showcased another five 3D printable objects that allow users to stylishly recycle old glass bottles, a candelabra, a hanger, a cake stand, an appetizer holder and a cocktail pot by printing out new plastic parts. Check out the video below:

These DIY projects can be downloaded for free from the magazine's website and taken to the nearest FABlab to be transformed into real objects.
