3D printer filament maker Formfutura annouces today its new ClearScent ABS filament range. As its name suggests ClearScent ABS is a transparent and almost odorless 3D printing ABS filament.
According to the company, the ClearScent ABS filaments offer the following features:
- Very clear, 90% of visible light pass through the material
- No unpleasant ABS smell during printing
- Less warping compared to 'normal' ABS
- Excellent thermal stability
- Superior interlayer adhesion
Additionally ClearScent ABS is soluble in Acetone, TetraHydroFuran (THF) and other Analogous Solvents, meaning that objects printed in ClearScent ABS can be vapor smoothing. With an acetone vapor smoothing treatment your 3D pritned object will get a really smooth and shiny surface.
The printing temperature for printing with ClearScent ABS filament is approximately 220-260°C. It is recommended to set your print bed temperature to approximately 90-100°C.
Formfutura will start offering ClearScent ABS in 3 colours: Clear, Transparent Red, and Transparent Dark Blue. More colours will be released soon, says Formfutura.
ClearScent ABS is priced at €32.95 per spool.
