In a day and age when education and knowledge of the latest innovations is the best thing you can give to your children, getting children in touch with 3D printing is more important than ever. That's why we are very happy to learn about a new Facebook video contest by Taiwanese 3D printer manufacturers XYZprinting. Through this contest, fans have the opportunity to win one of their Da Vinci Jr. 3D printers for their school.

XYZprinting, of course, is one of the leading manufacturers of entry level 3D printers. Founded in 2013 and with offices currently in China, Japan, the United States and Europe, XYZprinting is backed by world's leading electronic manufacturing conglomerate--- New Kinpo Group from Taiwan. And the 3D printer this competition revolves around, the Da Vinci Jr .1.0, is an excellent machine for educating children on the potential of 3D printing technology. It is known as an affordable and easy-to-use 3D printer that requires no calibration. It also features a new auto-loading filament system, which notifies users when filament is running low, and even a one click and fast-release extruder. Unveiled at the CES in January of this year, it seems to be perfect for starting users. It is currently priced at $349.

Interested in winning this for your school? Facebook users simply have to create a short video (30 seconds - 1 minute long), describing why their school needs a 3D printer from XYZprinting and what they could create with the da Vinci Jr. 1.0. Participants are also encouraged to ask friends and family to vote for their video and must like the XYZprinting page on Facebook to participate. Hopeful children also need an email address affiliated with a school to be eligible.

The video uploaded must also include the following information:

  • Entrant's Name
  • School Name
  • School Program (if applicable)
  • Why the entrant wants to WIN a da Vinci Jr. 3D printer for their school
  • What the entrant would create with the 3D printer

To upload a video and vote on other entries, go to XYZprinting's Facebook page here.
