Considered by many to be one of the best action movie franchises of all time, filmgoers may soon be able to 3D print their very own Terminator props at home just in time for the franchise’s latest installment, “Terminator: Genisys”.

Leading up to the release of the film on July 1st in the United States, Fandango, the US’s leading advanced ticket purchasing platform is teaming up with MakerBot for a slew of 3D printing-related giveaways that are geared at immersing fans in the film experience before the film is even released.

To celebrate the launch of advance tickets going on sale, enthusiastic Terminator fans who purchase the “Terminator Genisys” tickets on Fandango through July 13th will automatically be entered into the Fandango Terminator Genisys 3D Printer Sweepstakes for a chance to win their own MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer.

"The ‘Terminator' series has proven to be one of the most popular action franchises in film history," says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. "With the return of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a leading role, ‘Terminator Genisys' has fans of all ages excited for what will surely be a thrilling film."

According to Fandango, the upcoming Terminator Genisys movie will center around

“When John Connor (played by Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance, sends Sgt. Kyle Reese (played by Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect Sarah Connor (played by Emilia Clarke) and safeguard the future, an unexpected turn of events creates a fractured timeline. Now, Sgt. Reese finds himself in a new and unfamiliar version of the past, where he is faced with unlikely allies, including the Guardian played by  Arnold Schwarzenegger), dangerous new enemies, and an unexpected new mission: to reset the future.”

Of course, many of those filmgoers who are fans of the sci-fi genre are also likely to be fans of real-life futuristic technologies … such as additive manufacturing.  Just earlier this year, a new form of additive manufacturing was presented from Carbon3D that was said to be inspired by the original T1000 character from Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the second film in the Terminator franchise.

In total, there will be three lucky winners from the sweepstakes who will one of the MakerBot 3D printers along with one MakerBot Filament Starter Pack.

In the meantime, MakerBot encourages Terminator fans to 3D print their very own Terminator-themed 3D models from their Thingiverse platform including both actual Terminator robot exoskeleton parts including a skull and an arm, as well as an accurate replica of a ‘battle damaged’ Arnold Schwarzenegger as the Terminator himself.

Those interested in purchasing tickets through the ticketing platform for a chance to be entered to win a Replicator 2 can do so over on Fandango's dedicated page for the movie.

I created the only complete printable t-800 on thingiverse -- as a HUGE Arnold fan, I'd love to see fans undertake the 150 hour print.
