Do you have a thirst for 3D printing? Do you adore accessories? If you answered in the affirmative to these questions, you’ll be delighted to find out that Creative Tools have created a bizarre but undoubtedly useful 3D-printed carousel stand for mini filament spools and earrings!

That’s right, somebody at Creative Tools saw that mini replica filament spools needed making and, inspired by boutique jewellery displays, decided that a 3D-printed carousel stand would do the job perfectly. The mini filament spools look pretty cool, whilst earrings or other hangable objects can be stored in a tidy and presentable manner. The rotating stand could even house a combination of the mini spools and earrings.

The best thing about the amusing little device is that you can 3D print your own. Creative Tools have shared the STL files for the carousel over at Instructables. Since we like to see the maker community keeping its desks entertaining and its ears kitted out, we can’t recommend this quick build enough.

To design the unit, Creative Tools used Autodesk Fusion 360 and Simplify3D. They then used a Flashforge Dreamer 3D printer to print their version of the carousel.

Creative Tools have also built and shared STL files for a simple 3D-printable clamp designed to solve a common Volkswagen car key remote problem and a flashlight stand. How does the 3D-printed mini filament spool and earring carousel stand compare to those creations in terms of utility, style, or ease or construction? Our Volkswagen-driving, earring-sporting readers will have to decide that for themselves!
