be3D, the Y Soft company who specialise in entry to mid-level 3D printers, have today announced the latest incarnation of their DeeRed 3D printer, the company's largest professional printer for prototyping and manufacturing. The new DeeRed is set to be unveiled at the 3D Printshow in Paris, October 16-17.
Based in the Czech Republic, be3D is a young 3D printer manufacturer that caters for personal and business uses, producing two high-quality 3D printers: the aforementioned professional DeeRed, and its smaller desktop sibling, the DeeGreen. The 3D printers are easy and safe to use, and are available across Europe, Asia, and the USA. Back in November 2014, Y Soft acquired 51% of the company.
The latest DeeRed model has one notable advantage over its price category rivals at the 2015 3D Printshow in Paris, boasting the largest build area of the group with a chamber volume of 400 x 600 x 800 mm. These significant measurements represent a 50% volume increase on the previous model, which was exhibited in December 2013 at Euromold. The larger volume allows designers and manufacturers to print objects in a single print run, eliminating the need to assemble multiple smaller components.
"With DeeRed we focused on making 3D creation simple and easy, so customers can focus on their creativity, design and innovation," explained David Miklas, be3D CEO. "When time to market is crucial, the ability to create high quality, large objects at an affordable price becomes even more paramount."
The DeeRed, a Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) 3D printer, can print objects with two different materials or colours. This is due to it possessing two extruders (but not seven…). In addition to the 50% larger print chamber and smaller overall footprint, the new DeeRed boasts several improved print preparation/quality features, including a removable print platform, which allows easy access for preparing the platform and removing the finished print, a new heating bed for making use of ABS and HIPS, and an expanded portfolio of print profile templates.
New accessibility and safety features include a larger, intuitive 7-inch touch-screen, a webcam for remote monitoring and capturing photos of the print process, an ethernet connection, and magnetic door locks to prevent unwanted door openings during the print process.
