We’re just two weeks into 2016, yet the holiday madness and New Year celebrations already seem months and months away. Perhaps not so much for Tinkerine Studios, however, the Canadian 3D printer manufacturer and 3D printing education resource, who is surely still in celebration mode. The company today announced record sales in 2015 of approximately $1,268,000 (unaudited)—that’s a 270% increase compared to the previous year’s total of $343,000.

Each quarter in 2015 showed significant growth, with Q2 being the most dramatic: when compared to the same period in the previous year, sales in Q2 2015 jumped a full 532%. During Q4 2015, Tinkerine recorded sales of $349,000, a 263% increase over Q4 2014.

According to the British Colombia-based company, these strongly encouraging sales numbers can be credited to an increasing demand for the Tinkerine Ditto Pro 3D printer, 3D printing filaments, and associated software downloads from its content sharing platform, TinkerineU.

Tinkerine is known for pushing 3D printer education at all user-experience levels, and particularly within the educational sector with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Mathematics) content. In addition to developing the user-friendly Ditto and Litto line of 3D printers, Tinkerine manufactures its own line of high purity 3D printing filaments, has its own 3D printing software, Tinkerine Suite, and the Tinkerine store is well-stocked with a variety of 3D printer supplies and accessories.

For its part, TinkerineU features 3D printable projects, lesson plans, and comprehensive tutorials to help educators and users of all levels get hands-on learning and experience in 3D printing.

"We are very pleased with the growth of Tinkerine in 2015 and the continuing interest from the education sector. Our team at Tinkerine is developing new relationships with members of the education community, with a focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Mathematics) based education content,” said Eguene Suyu, President and CEO.

“In addition to identifying and fostering new relationships, we are receiving new requests for methods to incorporate 3D printing into everyday activities.  We are proud to give new users the opportunity to build up a foundation of skillsets in 3D printing, and will continue to develop new content for advancing educational content. I want to thank all shareholders and stakeholders for their support and look forward to delivering continued success and accelerated growth."

Tinkerine recently applied for and received TXS Venture Exchange approval to re-price all of its 2,425,000 outstanding options to an exercise price of $0.075. As of December 31, 2015, the company had 42,638,349 shares outstanding, and no outstanding warrants during Q4 2015. In 2014, Tinkerine Studios was acquired by White Bear Resources in a reverse take-over transaction (RTO), and became a whole-owned subsidiary of White Bear, who has since then changed its name to Tinkerine Studios Ltd.

As for its next steps, Tinkerine continued to add new dealers and distributors throughout Q4 2015, and expects to receive new orders from these partners during the first half of 2016. The Canadian company isn’t the only one to have recorded record-breaking sales at the end of 2015. To name just a few, we’ve recently reported on Aleph Objects tripling its revenue thanks to sales of the LulzBot 3D printer line; Zortrax tripling sales of the M200 3D printer; and MarkForged experiencing a staggering revenue growth of 400%.
