WobbleWorks, the company behind the 3Doodler 3D printing pen, has released its latest and most versatile model: the 3Doodler Create. The new 3D printing pen incorporates “hundreds of refinements” and replaces the 3Doodler 2.0.
Since the arrival of the 3Doodler back in 2013, many keen scribblers have been given the chance to experience 3D printing without paying top dollar. Admittedly, it’s not really 3D printing as we know it, but it ticks enough boxes to count. WobbleWorks has been keen to capitalize on the product’s early success and grow the company to its full potential, and 2016 has seen the company diversifying the 3Doodler catalogue. In February, the company released the child-friendly 3Doodler Start 3D printing pen, a chunky, pickle-shaped drawing device retailing for $49.99. Now, hot on the heels of the 3Doodler Start comes the 3Doodler Create, billed as the most versatile 3D printing pen of the lot.
So what’s new with the 3Doodler Create? For a start, the new 3D printing pen is compatible with the widest range of colors and materials yet—doodlers can choose from over 30 plastic colors, as well as a number of material options, including Matte, Glossy, Clear, Glow, Flexy, and Sparkle. Additionally, the 3Doodler Create can be used with a number of new accessories: a new Nozzle Set gives sketchers the chance to add various details to their doodled creations, while the 3Doodler JetPack allows for 3Doodling on the move—just attach the 3Doodler to the JetPack and doodle on a long car journey. Note: don’t doodle and drive.
According to WobbleWorks, the 3Doodler Create has been introduced to replace the 3Doodler 2.0, and incorporates literally hundreds of refinements for a smoother, faster, and more enjoyable doodle. New features include an ambient light bar, a new drive system, two speed settings, two tempo settings, and simplified and intuitive controls. All of that in a sleek, lightweight aluminum casing, clearly the more mature older sibling to the 3Doodler Start. That being said, the pen will soon be available in pink, yellow, green and bright blue, in addition to the current blue-grey.
The 3Doodler Create is available now for $99. Included in the box is the 3Doodler Create 3D printing pen, a power adapter, a set of colored plastic materials, a quick-start guide, and maintenance tools. Owners of the 3Doodler 2.0 are entitled to a 50% discount on orders for the 3Doodler Create.
