Chinese 3D scanning and printing company SHINING 3D is partnering with Geomagic, the engineering software branch of 3D Systems, to offer a “full reverse engineering solution.” The collaboration will pair SHINING 3D’s EinScan handheld scanner products with Geomagic’s reverse engineering software.
Through the collaboration, SHINING 3D and Geomagic are aiming to give users the equipment and software to execute reverse engineering projects at a reduced price. That is, from now until December 31, 2017, customers will be able to buy one of SHINING 3D’s handheld EinScan 3D scanners and Geomagic software bundles with a combined 20 per cent discount (10 per cent off each product).
Included in the deal are either one of SHINING 3D’s EinScan-Pro or EinScan-Pro+ 3D scanners, and either the Geomagic Wrap bundle or Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS bundle.
Let’s take a closer look at the products offered in the reverse engineering package. First off, the 3D scanners: the EinScan-Pro is a handheld 3D scanner released by SHINING 3D in 2016 which is suitable for a number of different applications thanks to its four 3D scanning modes: Handheld Rapid Scan, Handheld HD Scan, Auto Scan, and Free Scan.
It’s latest handheld scanner, the EinScan-Pro+ was released earlier this year and offers the same scanning modes as its predecessor but with an improved HD mode and increased scanning speed.
From the software perspective, Geomagic Wrap is a program specialized in transforming 3D scanning data into 3D models. The versatile software can be used in a number of fields, including engineering, art and entertainment, archaeology and preservation, and manufacturing.
Geomagic for SOLIDWORKS, for its part, allows users to easily and efficiently convert 3D scan data into the SOLIDWORKS program. The tool allows users to generate 3D models of their scans in mere minutes, making the program a powerful addition to any 3D scanning and 3D printing suite.

“By closely engaging with our customers, SHINING 3D understands their demands for a reliable and complete reverse engineering solution, while maintaining an affordable price,” commented Oscar Meza, VP of global sales at SHINING 3D.
“Since our goal is to offer affordable 3D digital solutions for more people, SHINING 3D is offering a full reverse engineering solution, which combines leading-edge tools at a reasonable price aimed to meet all the needs in reverse engineering applications,” he added.
In addition to its reverse engineering promotion with Geomagic, SHINING 3D is also offering a 20 percent deal on its handheld EinScan 3D scanners in partnership with Verisurf’s reverse engineering software suite.
