Chinese 3D printing company SHINING 3D has announced two new partnerships with 3D modeling software developers Robert McNeel & Associates (creator of Rhinoceros 3D) and ADA 3D (developer of Mesh2Surface). Through the strategic agreements, SHINING 3D customers will now be able to purchase both 3D modeling programs through the SHINING 3D Strong Global distribution network.

Over the past year, Hangzhou-based SHINING 3D has been ramping up its partnerships within the 3D printing industry. In October, for example, the company formed alliances with both South Korean engineering and software firm PointShape and 3D Systems’ Geomagic branch to expand its 3D software offering.

Now, through new strategic collaborations with Robert McNeel & Associates and Bulgaria-based ADA 3D, SHINING 3D is continuing this expansion with the goal of offering additive manufacturing technologies at a more accessible cost.

Through its partnership with Rhinoceros 3D’s developers, SHINING 3D is announcing a joint 3D digitizing solution for 3D modeling. In other words, SHINING 3D customers can now purchase Rhinoceros CAD software platform directly through its distribution network. Available programs include Rhino, Flamingo, Penguin, Bongo, Brazil, and additional software bundles.

Oscar Meza, VP of global sales at SHINING 3D commented on the agreement, saying, “By partnering with Rhinoceros 3D, a company that shares same spirits, culture and vision, SHINING 3D creates innovation for small and big business with new technologies, creative ideas and powerful tools.”

Scott Davidson of Robert McNeel & Associates, echoed the sentiment, saying: “We are pleased to work with SHINING 3D to offer customers with solutions that fit more users’ demands and professional requirements. Our customers can now leverage the additional expertise of SHINING 3D and the tools they provide to create a more productive 3D workflow.”

The second collaboration will offer SHINING 3D clients access to Mesh2Surface, a reverse engineering plugin for Rhinoceros, through its global distribution network. The company says this agreement will provide its users with the means to obtain accurate CAD models based off of scan data.

Together, the companies are aiming to offer a more user-friendly and accessible 3D printing experience, from 3D scanning, to 3D modeling, and finally to production.

“Mesh2Surface has been providing customers with the easy-to-use, flexible and powerful software that allows them to apply 3D technologies to their business more efficiently and profitably,” said Kostadin Vrantzaliev, Product Manager at Mesh2Surface. “The software bundle we cooperate with SHINING 3D will be standout on the market, delivering much more value at a lower cost.”

“Over the last 13 years, SHINING 3D has been the pioneer of providing the complete 3D solution from 3D scanning to 3D printing in 3D industry,” added Meza. “The same strategy we share with Mesh2Surface is providing customers with easy-to-use products at an affordable price.”

Founded in 2004, SHINING 3D has become known in the 3D printing industry for its desktop 3D printers and its high quality handheld 3D scanning technologies.
