Riel Gallant | Guest Writer
Riel Gallant is a Library and Information Studies graduate from Dalhousie University. Hailing from Prince Edward Island, Riel began his studies at Université Sainte-Anne in Pointe-de-l'église, Nova Scotia, Canada, majoring in both History and English. In September of 2011, he relocated to Halifax to pursue his masters degree. A few months later, he partnered with fellow graduate student, Michael Groenendyk, to propose a 3D printing, 3D scanning, and 3D model repository idea to Dalhousie University Libraries. This resulted in a library service that was one of the first of its kind in the world, and a paper published in Emerald's Library Hi-Tech. Riel remains active in multiple digital initiatives in libraries, archives, and museums, and can be reached through his Twitter account.
