3D printing is changing the world – from printing guns and human organs to dismantling the world's industrial infrastructure by enabling home manufacturing. It's "the next Industrial Revolution."

A new documentary, "Print the Legend", takes a closer look of the rise of the 3D printer, and follows the people racing to bring this hot new technology to your home, documenting the "Macintosh Moment" of this revolution and exploring what it takes to live the American Dream.

The film features 3D printer company Formlabs, Makerbot, and 3D Systems etc, and figures in the community, including Cody Wilson, the man who created the first 3D printed gun.

For the first time in history, the stories of the human beings building an industry have been filmed. The result: "Print the Legend", which follows the people racing to bring 3D printing to your desktop and into your life. For the winners, there are fortunes – and history – to be made.

"Print the Legend" is both the definitive 3D Printing Documentary – capturing a tech in the midst of its "Macintosh Moment" – and a compelling tale about what it takes to live the American Dream in any field.

The film was directed by Luis Lopez and Clay Tweel, producers of The King of Kong, Oscar-winner Undefeated, and Make Believe, which won the grand jury prize at the LA Film Fest in 2010.

'Print the Legend' premieres at SXSW on Monday, March 10 at 1:45 p.m.

Hey come on, guys, be better... Are you still stuck on the average hype wave, still talking about 3D printed guns and pinpointing their inventors as "figures"? As far as I can see, the movie almost seems to be a bad infomercial from MKI by the way. If forgets all the real pioneers before it got purely commercial. The legends are not the one that make money here ;) Well, it depends on your point of view.
